Location: All classes at PUMC. (9908 South Glen Road, Potomac, MD 20854.)
Tuition: All classes are at the drop-in rate of $25 each. If you use a coupon from the $90 booklet we have been selling, then I’ll hand you $5 cash for the difference in price.
(Online Registration at $25 per class for up to six classes is available. As usual, just tell it which classes you will not attend.)

Our Famous Supervised Play Class for Advanced Beginners!! Mondays 10 AM—Noon. Taught by Leslie and Charlie. Learning to apply new knowledge (picking the right tool for the right hand) is a problem for every level student. We’re going to take the lessons you’ve had in basic opening bids and responses, mix up the topics in random order so you can apply your knowledge without our help. Book with all deals available for $10. No handouts for individual classes available. Six weeks, starts July 23 and ends August 27.
Our Famous Supervised Play Class for Intermediates!! Mondays 7—9 PM. Taught by Charlie. Choosing the right tool at the right time is done through experience. These are new hands using several topics you learned mostly during the recent Fall semester. There will be some overcalls, Stayman, competitive bidding, jump rebids, and even some slams. You play the contract you get to, then we discuss the best contract and how to play it. Book with all deals available for $10. No handouts for individual classes available. Topics: Week 1: TNT (Think Notrump); Week 2: Keep Winners, Throw Losers (not as easy as it sounds); Week 3: The Rule of 20 (opening light in 1st or 2nd seat); Week 4: Rule of Margaritas (opening light in 3rd seat—Yeehaw!!); Week 5: When NOT to use “Eight Ever, Nine Never”; Week 6: Is Notrump of Major Importance? Top Bridge Mistakes Your Partner Makes! Tuesdays, 10 AM—Noon. Taught by Leslie and Charlie. Topics: Weeks 1, 2 & 3 will be a mix of bidding, play and defense. Week 4: When NOT to Pull Trump; Week 5: How to Get More Than One Ruff; Week 6: How to Destroy Declarer’s Dummy. Six weeks, starts July 24 and ends August 28.
Polishing your Bridge, Part 3. Thursdays 10 AM—Noon. Taught by Charlie. This is one of our most popular classes and students are amazed at the amount of new information that they acquire. You do not have to have taken Parts 1 & 2 to enjoy this class, each chapter stands alone. Topics: Week 1: Are These Bids the End of the Auction?; Week 2: How High Can We Take This? Week 3: Mix up of Weeks 1 and 2!! Week 4: When NT Bids Show a Stopper and When They Don’t; Week 5: When a NT Bid is or is NOT Balanced!; Week 6: Mix up of Weeks 4 & 5!! Six weeks, starts July 26 and ends August 30.
Slam Bidding! Thursdays, 10 AM—Noon. Taught by Leslie. Popular tools to get to those elusive slam contracts. Topics: Week 1: Jump Shifts by the Opener; Week 2: Reverses (You MUST attend this one!); Week 3: Combined review of weeks 1 & 2; Week 4: Not So Basic Blackwood; Week 5: Control Bidding to Slam; Week 6: Combined review of weeks 4 & 5. Six weeks, starts July 26 and ends August 30.
2/1 Game Forcing System. Wednesdays 10 AM—Noon. Taught by Leslie and Charlie. You will need to be a solid intermediate up through an advanced-level student to learn all the bells and whistles of this popular system. Weeks 1 & 2: 1NT Forcing; Weeks 3 & 4: Two Over One Game Forcing Auctions. Weeks 5 & 6: Mixed Review of both topics. Six weeks, starts July 25 and ends August 29.
